I’m Maiken a London based freelance illustrator and printmaker.

I was born and raised in Copenhagen. In 2020 I decided to move to Scotland for a new challange and help boost my creativity, this lead to graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design with a first class Honours in illustration in 2024.

My work is based in traditional media, varying from drawing, painting and many types of printmaking. I enjoy making bold, colourful and charming representations of the world around me. Taking most of my inspiration from the people I meet. I’m fascinated by memories and nostalgia - the little quiet moments in between - I strive to create work that celebrates simple moments of awe.

As a printmaker, I enjoy the physical crafting aspect of exploring various types of print. Exploring printing onto different textures and hopefully in the future combining this with other craft making. I aim to share my knowledge and love for printmaking with others.
